You are invited to join fellow alumni, faculty, and friends for a fascinating evening discovering the world of genomic science at Illinois.  Learn first-hand about innovative and groundbreaking research from award-winning scientists Brendan Harley, Paul Hergenrother, and Donald Ort. 

The Harry E. Preble Dean of the College of LAS, Feng Sheng Hu, invites you to meet the director of the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, Gene Robinson, to learn about the dynamic research of these faculty who work in multi-disciplinary teams.  You will enjoy a reception, inspiring presentations by LAS scientists, a tour of this state-of-the-art facility, and stimulating conversation over coffee and dessert.

The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology is an interdisciplinary institute dedicated to transformative research and technology in life sciences using team-based strategies to tackle grand societal challenges. Advances in genomics are fundamental to improving medicine, agriculture, nanotechnology, and manufacturing.
